Obituary for Joel F. Jerome

Joel F. Jerome, age 74; of Westfield Center, OH. Passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026. Loving and devoted husband of Betty (nee Lamb) for over 48 years; beloved son of the late Oliver and Lois Jerome; son-in-law of the late William and Virginia Lamb; dearest brother of Pamela Swift (William) (both deceased); brother-in-law of Sally Lutz (deceased) (Howard), William Lamb (Elaine) and David Lamb (Heidi); dear uncle of William Swift (Shannon), Marty Lutz (Dawn), Andy O’Neal (Natasha), Howard Lutz (Nancy) and the late Melissa Lange; great uncle of Howie, Henry, William, Donnie, Emma, Gary and Olivia; beloved cousin and dear friend of many.
Joel was a great baseball player and enjoyed fishing, scuba diving and reading. One of his biggest joys was golfing with Betty and his buddies at Weymouth and Fox Meadow country clubs. He was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, served on the council outreach, cemetery committee and enjoyed the church book club called Bibles and Beer. Joel volunteered at the Seville Community Food Pantry twice a month and was their official greeter. Joel was a kind, humble and honest gentleman, he never said an unkind word about anyone. He lived a life of service, caring and love and would always say “live a life that mattered”.
