Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer or Apprentice Embalmer/Funeral Director

Hill Funeral Home in Westerville, Ohio (suburb of Columbus) is looking for a Licensed Embalmer/Funeral Director or an Apprentice Embalmer/Funeral Director. We are a 3rd generation family owner/operated location. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with excellent people skills and a passion for serving a local community. The qualified candidate should be able to work independently, have a clean driving record, pass a background check, and be free of any medical condition that precludes heavy lifting. Year after year we continue to grow as more families continue to trust our team and the extraordinary service we provide.
Responsibilities for Licensed Embalmer/Funeral Director include but are not limited to:
- Making daytime removals (No night removals).
- Meeting with families to arrange services.
- Working Visitation.
- Embalming and preparation of the deceased.
- Overnight on call shifts and weekend duties are on rotation.
- Directing funerals and cremation services.
- Transporting human remains.
- Responsibilities for Apprentice Embalmer/Funeral Director include but are not limited to:
- Fulfilling the responsibilities of Apprenticeship as outlined by Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral
- Directors
- Daytime Removals (No night removals).
- Assisting/observing the Funeral Directors and Embalmers as needed.
- Transporting human remains.
- Possible light maintenance duties
Compensation includes: competitive salary based on experience, paid time off for continuing education, paid vacation (after 90 days). Civic/fraternal memberships and community relationships are encouraged. All dues, license fees and many expenses are paid by the funeral home with approval (after 90 days.)
