Obituary for Jack Denver Davis

Retired Funeral Director, Brother of the late Roger W. Davis, OFDA Past President, and Uncle of R. Scott Davis, OFDA Past President and Owner of Roger W. Davis Funeral Home

Jack Denver Davis, 82 of South Webster, died Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born March 31, 1940, in South Webster to the late Denver Wallace and Marguerite Scott Davis.

Jack was a funeral director and embalmer and was the former owner of D.W. Davis Funeral Home in South Webster. He was a 1958 graduate of South Webster High School where he was also inducted in the Hall of Fame. He attended Miami University and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He was a former City Councilman and was also a former Mayor of South Webster. He also taught school in the Minford School District. He was member of Christ United Methodist and a member of Western Sun Masonic Lodge. He was also a former member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association and was a huge supporter of South Webster athletics.

Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a son Gregory Scott Davis and a brother Roger W. Davis.

Jack is survived by 2 daughters: Julie Lynn Cooper and Nancy Beth (April) Davis, a granddaughter Katelyn Cooper and a sister Patricia (Glenn) Varney, the mother of his children, Carolyn Davis along with several nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Christ United Methodist Church in South Webster with Wes Claxon officiating.

Interment will be in South Webster Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from Noon till 8:00 PM on Wednesday and 2 hours prior to the service on Thursday.
