Obituary for Brian L. Koch

Funeral Home Owner, Husband of Donna Koch and Father of Addison Roth, all of Conner & Koch Funeral Home; Son of Steve and Kathy Conner and Brother of Bradley Conner, all of Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home

Brian LeMoyne Koch, 56, of Bellbrook went to heaven Monday, June 27, 2022 at Hospice of Dayton with his family by his side.

The defining relationship in Brian’s life was with Jesus. He pointed to Promise Keepers as formative to many of his positive life decisions. He loved the “Family Ties” group and the lifelong friendships made. Brian sang in a gospel quartet called Phoster Four for several years, chaperoned many youth trips, taught Sunday School, led VBS, served as an elder, and pastored a small church. In recent years, he appreciated his BSF men's group, Fairhaven men's group, and small group studies and fellowship. He loved reading and sharing God’s Word.

Countless hours of Brian’s life were lived right in the heart of downtown Bellbrook. His service to families as director and owner of Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home was truly his life’s greatest honor. He diligently worked to make Bellbrook Plaza something the whole town would be proud of. He originated Picnic in the Plaza and found fulfillment knowing it would continue. Brian was involved in many civic organizations and right up to his final days was passionate about Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Chamber of Commerce, For Bellbrook By Bellbrook, Coffee with Champions, Bellbrook by Design, and his business book club.

Funeral service reminded Brian daily to live life to the fullest and have fun along the way. He was a prankster known for his shenanigans, especially on April Fools Day. He absolutely loved skiing on snow or water, but nowhere more than his beloved Dale Hollow Lake behind his cherished boat. Brian was an enduring Bengals fan and reveled in this year's Super Bowl excitement. He loved to travel and was able to see some pretty amazing places, but nothing better than a park or Kings Island with his six grandkids.

The pride and joy of Brian’s life was his family. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 36 years, Donna Keegan Koch. His girls, Mackenzie (Travis) Williams, Addison (Zach) Roth, Brydon (Matthew) Lustig, and his boy, Cole Franks, are his greatest contribution to this world. Mackenzie will carry on his giving, helpful spirit. Addison will continue his serving families with love and creativity. Brydon will advance his entrepreneurial energy. Cole will make sure his fun and pranks live on.

His legacy also lives on in the six who call him Pops; Rhett, Hayes, and Tucker Williams, Lowen and Sutton Roth, and Jaxon Lustig. Brian is also survived by his parents, Steve and Kathy Conner, his siblings Tonya (John) McCoy and Brad (Missy) Conner, and many very special nieces and nephews that adored their Uncle B. Also surviving Brian is dear and adopted Betty Barlow who loved him like her own. He was preceded in death by his birth dad, Richard Koch, beloved nephew Codi Jackson, and Bill Barlow.

Please join the family in celebrating Brian’s life at Conner and Koch Life Celebration Home on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Life Celebration services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Fairhaven Church Worship Center. Burial will take place at Miami Cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to Fairhaven Church or Hospice of Dayton.
