Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer
Located in Chardon, Ohio, Burr Funeral Home has been owned and operated by the Burr family since 1859. As the oldest continuously operated business in Geauga County, Burr offers to every family served its long-held reputation for professionalism, sensitivity, and commitment to making each funeral a personal tribute to the person who has died.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- Active and In Good Standing Funeral Directing and Embalming License
- Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional,
organized, and compassionate manner - Care for the deceased respectfully while performing a variety of tasks, which include:
embalming; dressing; cosmetics; and casketing - strong embalming skills required - Schedule and oversee interment or cremation services
- Prepare necessary legal paperwork, including contracts, authorizations,
death certificates and transit permits - Good understanding of computers and standard software including,
MS Word, MS Excel, and EDRS - Ability to serve and maintain several families in timely manner
Excellent communication skills - Detail oriented
- High level of empathy and compassion
Ability to work weekends and evenings according to schedule
