Dale Andrew Windon

Dale Andrew Windon, 66 of Ona passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 at his home. 

Born February 6, 1945 in Winfield, he was a son of the late Chester K. and Arminta Gill Windon. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bernard and Kenneth Windon.

Dale was a 1963 graduate of Winfield High School and attended Beckley Junior College. He was a 1967 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and was licensed that year by the State of West Virginia as a funeral director and embalmer. He was employed as an outside sales representative by the Pierce Chemical/Royal Bond, Co. calling on funeral homes in West Virginia,Kentucky,Virginia and Ohio. He was formerly employed by the Champion Co of Springfield,OH. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, Ona and served in the United States Coast Guard. 

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara Cockrell Windon; sons and daughter-in-law, Andy and Tammy Windon of Winter Garden, FL and Chesley Windon of Columbus, OH; sister and brother-in-law, Victoria Sue Windon Ray and Harry Ray of Winfield; sisters-in-law, Holly Windon Starck of Lake Geneva, WI and Patricia Windon Wright of Lakeland, FL and three grandchildren, Alex, Tyler and Holly Windon all of Winter Garden, FL.

Funeral service will be held at12:00 Noon, Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane with Pastor William St. Clair officiating. Burial will be in Winfield Cemetery, Winfield.

Friends may visit from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
