Obituary for Larry A. Dorfmeyer

Brother of Susan Dorfmeyer Strup and Son of Helen Foth Dorfmeyer, Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary

Larry A. Dorfmeyer died Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Lutheran Village of Wolf Creek where he had resided. He was born in Toledo to Emery Sr. and Helen (Foth) Dorfmeyer on May 25, 1950.

He graduated from Maumee Valley Country Day School, Capital University and the University of Minnesota- College of Mortuary Science. Larry had been a funeral director & embalmer with the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary.

Larry was an avid sports fan following the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Detroit Tigers and Lions and PGA golf. He also enjoyed traveling.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Emery Jr. Surviving are his loving mother, Helen; sister and brother in law, Susan and David Strup; nieces, Abby (Terry) Bopp and Caroline (Chris) Parker.

Visitation will be held at the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary, 3815 Sylvania Ave. (at Woodley Rd.) Sunday after 2 p.m. with funeral services to be held at 7 p.m. Burial services will be private for the family on Monday at Toledo Memorial Park.
