Notification of Death - David M. Oliver

May 8, 2007

OFDA received word this morning that David M. Oliver, 82, of Hilliard, formerly of Chillicothe and Naples and Orlando, FL, died Tuesday morning, May 8, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born Nov. 18, 1924 in Chillicothe, the son of Hugh C. and Lulu F. (Ellis) Oliver. On Sept. 6, 1949 he married June E. Braley, who survives.

Also surviving are daughters: Susan K. (James) Hency, Sarah J. (Jerre) Kirk, Ann E. (Michael Acheson) Oliver and Amy L. (David) Walters; grandchildren, Jason and Matthew Hency, Katherine and Elizabeth Kirk and Ian Walters; a step-grandson, Kyle Acheson; sister, Mary F. Durham; sister-in-law, Margaret Oliver and a host of nieces and nephews. His parents, sisters, Lanora Oliver and Virginia Cavett, brothers, Hugh E. Oliver and John E. Oliver and sister-in-law, Nelle E. Colopy preceded him in death.

Mr. Oliver was a 1942 graduate of Chillicothe High School and was a veteran of WW II, serving in the U.S. Army Medical Corps as a surgical technician in the South Pacific Theatre. He was a graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and was licensed funeral director and embalmer. As the owner of Fawcett Oliver and Glass Funeral Home, he practiced in Chillicothe until his retirement in 1987.

A service was held Saturday, May 12. Letters of condolence may be sent to the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home which served the family, 77 East Fifth Street, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
