Our client, Brugger Funeral Homes and Crematory has conducted services through their two locations for nearly 50,000 people in the Erie, Pennsylvania area since their opening in 1894. Over their nearly 130 years in business, they have remained dedicated to their goal of providing families with funeral services that are meaningful, appropriate, and affordable.

On behalf of our client, Decision Associates is looking for an experienced Funeral Director who will uphold the organization’s dedication to and pride in serving families in Erie and the surrounding area.

Reporting directly to the Brugger family managing partners, this role will be responsible for the following duties:

Removal, embalming, dressing, and preparation of deceased bodies
Meeting with families on an as needed and pre-need basis to arrange funerals
Overseeing completion of necessary legal documents, obituary submission, ordering goods and services as required
Funeral and visitation detail which includes but is not limited to greeting guests and opening doors, lining up processionals, preparing necessary printing, setting up and tearing down chapel, flowers, and funeral parlor before and after services
Follow up with families post-funeral

Requirements:

A minimum of five to ten years of funeral home experience
Valid Pennsylvania funeral director’s license or ability to obtain one if working in another state
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and ability to be insured commercially
Professional appearance and impeccable people skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and attention to detail
