Obituary for Marilyn K. St. Hilaire

Vice President at Green Family Funeral Home

Marilyn K. St. Hilaire, Bus No. 35, made her final run on Friday September 25. 2020. Marilyn was born in Ravenna, Ohio on May 2, 1964, the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Hilda Jean (Belknap) Breznai. A lifetime Mantua-Hiram area resident, she was a 1982 graduate of Crestwood High School. Marilyn had been employed as a bus driver since 1986 for Crestwood Schools. Driving bus was much more than a job to Marilyn, as she took her responsibilities of helping children both on the bus, and where ever she had contact with them, to the highest level of being there to offer care and love. Her work ethic was second to none! Over the years the lasting friendships developed with both students and parents, often made her a second mom to many. In 2003 she became associated with the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, again showing love and compassion to families she knew, and those whom she had just met. Her warm smile, and “Baby Blue Eyes”, and a sincere desire to help at a difficult time, gave comfort to hundreds of families. She became known for the hugs given to all, often bending over from her 6 ft. frame to show that care. She eventually became Manager and Vice-President, positions she held at the time of her passing. As watching Drew and Emily grow from teenagers to young adults, Marilyn was there to support them at all of their sporting events, band outings, and stood with pride at their graduations. She was the epitome of trust and keeping the best interests for her children, as well as those children she was a second mom to. The community has truly lost a lady whose presence will forever be remembered.

Marilyn is survived by her son Drew St. Hilaire of Mantua, daughter Emily St. Hilaire of Hiram, stationed in the U.S. Navy at Lemoore, California; her brother Andy “Joey” Breznai of Mantua, sister Debbie Breznai of Chagrin Falls, her special 4 legged child “Tabby”, and many other loving family, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving son Bryan St. Hilaire. No calling hours. A private funeral service will be held Friday October 2, 2020 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Officiating will be Rev. Edward Stafford. Private interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Mantua Village, Ohio. A Celebration of Life open to all family and friends will take place on Friday October 2, 2020 beginning at 12:00 Noon, and continuing throughout the afternoon at the Shalersville Township Town Hall. Social distancing and masks are required at the service, and whenever possible at the gathering. Condolences, memories and her video tribute can be viewed at greenfamilyfuneralhome.com, and her funeral service for those unable to attend will also be available at the funeral home website later in the day.
