Obituary for Marion G. “Skip” Burcham

Marion G. "Skip" Burcham, 67, of Fairborn, passed away Wednesday March 16, 2016 in Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 15, 1948 in Piqua, Ohio, the son of the late Carl and Judith (Gould) Burcham. Skip was a graduate of Greenon High School and Vincennes University. Skip was a licensed funeral director for over forty years. Skip began his employment at Littleton Funeral Home in 1971 and remained there for eighteen years. During that time, he was a partner in the Littleton Funeral Home with his friend Tom Rue. In 1989 he returned to his family’s business, Burcham Funeral Home in Fairborn. He remained at Burcham Funeral Home until he sold the business and retired. After retirement, he was able to enjoy his grandchildren and play golf. Skip was a member of Country Club of the North and a past member of Northwood Hills Country Club, Kiwanis and Rotary. Survivors include his wife, Angela (Lester) Burcham; sons, Jason (Kerri) Burcham of Santa Clarita, California; Kevin Burcham of Fairborn and Bradley Lester of Indianapolis; daughter, Jamie Seither of Hamilton; sisters, Cheryl (John) Cotner of South Carolina and Margaret Burcham of Enon; brother, Carl Burcham of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren, Ryan, Cole and Dylan Burcham, Breadon and Lyric Seither. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 – 8 p.m. Tuesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. Additional visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. Wednesday at Victory Temple, 2443 Valle Greene Drive, Fairborn. Celebration of Skip’s life will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Walden officiating. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Skip’s memory to Victory Temple.
