Obituary for Peter Morrison

Funeral Director at Fox Funeral home

There will be a mass of Christian burial at 11:00am Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Parish celebrated by Rev. Philip Rogers, for Peter Ignatius Morrison, 56, who passed away suddenly Saturday morning. Peter was born January 9, 1960, in Youngstown, a son of Dr. Robert G. and Norita (Kling) Morrison.

He graduated from Ursuline High School in the Class of 1978 and then from Youngstown State University with a B.S. in Business Administration.

Following graduation, he was the Vice-President of Sales for the Edgar Miller Company. Afterwards, he received his funeral director license from the Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors on March 13, 2006 and was currently a funeral director and preneed advisor for Fox Funeral Home, where he shared his passion for helping families in grief. He was a member of the Tri-County Funeral Directors Association and the Ohio Funeral Directors Association.

He was an active member of the Board 60 Club, the Greenbacks Investment Group, and he enjoyed playing co-ed bocce at the MVR. Peter was very proud of his several mission trips; first with his father to Guatemala and then to Mexico with the Ursuline Students of Stewardship Club.

He married Aimee Amendolara, his high-school sweetheart in June of 1986. Besides his wife, he will be lovingly missed by his mother, Norita Morrison, and as well as deeply loved by his children David, Megan, and her fiancé Stephen Preston; his siblings Ray (Teresa), Theresa Semchee (Mike), Claudia Brown (Mark), and Dan, as well as his brothers and sister-in-laws Michael Amendolara, Sue Amendolara (Bill Mathie) and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed, not only by his family and friends, but by the MGD Brewing Company, the Mountaineer Race Track and Casino, the crowd at Tiffany’s Bar & Grille, and the Thursday Poker Club.

Peter was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Robert G. Morrison.
