Notification of Death - Karen Egger

September 8, 2006

OFDA received word this morning that Karen Egger, age 54, of Columbus died suddenly Friday, September 8, 2006. Karen was the sister of Don Jones, funeral director, Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, Worthington.

She is preceded in death by her brother D. Thomas Jones and grandparents Albert and Sarah Wickham, Richard and Hope Jones, and former mother-in-law Marge Egger. Karen is survived by her loving son, Jeff (Christina Taylor) Egger of Columbus; parents, Richard T. and Charlotte Jones; brothers and sister, Donald C. (Susan) Jones, David (Teresa) Jones, Dale (Julie) Jones, Gwen (Dale) Tower; loving companion, Gunther Waretzi; many beloved nieces, nephews and a multitude of loving, caring friends; and Jessie.

Karen was a longtime employee of Huntington National Bank with over 35 years of service. She was a 1970 graduate of North High School where she was the Polar Bear Mascot for two years. Karen was an avid shopper especially garage sales and an OSU Buckeye fan. Karen will be missed by all who knew her strong character and gentle heart.

Funeral service 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at McKendree United Methodist Church, 3330 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, OH. Family will receive friends 2:00-8;00 PM, Tuesday, September 12 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, OH. Burial Union Cemetery.
