William H. Clifford

OFDA received word this afternoon that William H. Clifford, 81, died peacefully May 29, 2006. Mr. Clifford was born in Cuyahoga Falls where he had resided his entire life. He was owner of Clifford Funeral Home (now Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home) since 1958 and had served area families as a funeral director for over 50 years. He was a Veteran of WW2 having served with the U.S. Army in Germany.

Preceded in death by his son, Billy and brother, Robert E., Bill is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Dottie; daughters and sons-in-law, Marty and Ken Shoemaker and Penny and Gary Slovisky; his grandchildren of whom he was very proud, Tracy Shoemaker, Steve Shoemaker and Sean Slovisky and brother, Jerry (Joan) Hackett.

Friends my call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 Thursday, June 1, 2006. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. A Military Service will be conducted by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281.
