We currently have an opening for a full-time Ohio Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer or apprentice seeking an Ohio Funeral Director/Embalmer license. We are a family owned and operated funeral home with three locations, with both human and pet crematories, and a cemetery. We are seeking a professional individual who will be responsible for all areas of embalming and funeral directing and eager to learn all aspects of our organization to help us as well as their own professional development. Day-to-day responsibilities would include all aspects of funeral service; funeral arranging and service directing; embalming, dressing, casketing and cosmetizing. Crematory experience is a plus but not mandatory, as we have staff to handle those operations. We offer a competitive salary, one weeknight on-call, one primary weekend and one back-up weekend per month; transport team to handle evening removals or the opportunity to make additional income for removals, no late-night embalming; medical insurance, after 90 days; a simple IRA with Employer contribution, after two years; clothing allowance; paid license fees and CEU’s; as well as sick and vacation time. We encourage community involvement and professional development, supporting attendance at funeral service conferences and encourage our staff to obtain additional certifications such as CFSP, CPC and as Certified Celebrants. Our operations are located along beautiful Lake Erie in Ashtabula County, located just a short drive from Cleveland and Erie, Pennsylvania, with all the comforts of small town living.
