Compassion Fatigue, Burnout and the Funeral Director

Juniper, Hilton Columbus @ Easton

Lauren K. LeRoy AKA “Little Miss Funeral,” New York

Compassion fatigue is described as a state experienced by those helping people in distress or an extreme state of tension and preoccupation with the suffering of those being helped to the degree that it can create a secondary traumatic stress for the helper. Sharing her own personal stories, she hopes to start a conversation with others to let them know that being a funeral director is hard, but the work that funeral directors do is worth it as long as they learn to first care for themselves.

One Continuing Education Hour

Lauren is generously sponsored by Homesteaders Life
